buying kit without a hard drive

I have recently bought a 250gb replacement kit for my TiVo (TDC540040) and i realized that i mistakingly bought a replacement hard drive but i really wanted a add kit. Is there a way i can buy all the parts from a add kit except for the items i already bought in the replacement kit. Or is the drive already formatted to work by itself.

The drive is formatted to work alone as an A drive. Best bet is to return that and buy the other kit.
