  • Linux not booting

    I bought a 320GB upgrade for my Hughes SD-DVR80
Now my wife wants me to copy the old drive.
So far today I've tried copying using 4 different computers.
The oldest computer won't recognize the drives at all.
The others give me the 'enter' to boot linux screen.
My newest computer hangs after detecting the floppy drive.
Two of the computers error out with an init rejected message. These two should be about the right age. Both have AMD chipsets.
    Any hope?

What's wrong with the "enter" ones? That's right.

Can you not hit enter? If so, try a PS2 keyboard.

I really don't know what it is. Maybe it's the AMD chips - do you have others?

The newest is an Intel core2 on an Intel motherboard DP965LT.
It's the one that hangs right after detecting the floppy . . . which isn't connected properly . . . let me check.

Unfortunately that's the computer I'm typing on and it opnly has one IDE connector, so it'll take some reconfiguring.

Sorry, but this is the latest version of the CD we have, and we won't likely recompile soon.
