Hi all, I had an old 80 hour drive, that I upgraded up to a 500 Gb Seagate DB35 drive. The first time I did the upgrade, there were lots of bad sectors and the upgrade failed, the second time it did not report bad sectors and worked fine.
It powered up fine, but I noticed it's very noisy (sounds like disk head writing scratching almost) and at apparently random times (not always recording or playing back). My question is, is it possible that I copied over a "bad" image that was fragmented and the new, faster drive is just having a hard time with it? Should I try wiping the entire thing and starting from scratch with a new image, or is there any possiblity that resetting via the menu (losing all recorded programs/preferences) would help?
Please help! Thanks!
