  • Help with weaknees linux sata distro

I am attempting to upgrade a 652160 with a Seagate 750G DB35 drive using the weaknees linux sata distribution, and i can not see any sata drives (old Tivo drive, new Seagate drive, any of my windows NTFS drives) when it is finished booting. My motherboard is an Asus P5E, which uses the Intel X38 chipset for the sata interface. Does anyone here have any suggestions about how I should proceed?

The linux kernel used on the CD is older than your hardware. ICH9 support was added in the linux kernel with version 2.6.19.

Try setting the SATA mode to "IDE". That will cause the BIOS to put it into a legacy mode that may work with the older software. You'll probably need to flip it back to the previous setting when you are done.
