Hi. A couple of years ago I upgraded the original 35 hour drive in my DirecTivo to 120 Gb drive. That is now showing signs of dying. I bought the Weaknees Seagate DB35 drive.
When I try to use the Weaknees CD and the
mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hda | mfsrestore -s 127 -r 4 -xzpi - /dev/hdd (and I have confirmed that the drive letters are right and it sees the sizes)
It reads the source, and then gives me error saying the target drive is not large enough. I did a little reading and it appears as though this is due to this being the 2nd time I am trying to expand. Am I out of luck here? Is there any way to save all my settings AND recordings while:
1) expanding the drive
and if no to 1 then
2) use this drive but make it think it's the same size?
I have a Ubuntu machine and a Mac OSX machine available if there are any partition tricks I can do.
TIA.
Carl.
