  • Replaced A Drive, now B not recognized

I have a Sony SVR2000 and some time ago I added a 120gb second drive. Everything worked fine for years, then I started getting the GSOD and it kept trying to reboot and fail so I assume the hard drive was toast and ordered a replacment 40gb (same size as the original I thought). Now it works fine, but only shows me 40 hours 52 minutes of capacity.

I have read some of the other threads and it looks like when people have this problem it is due to a new drive being a higher capacity and the fix is to put the old A drive, new A drive and old B drive in a pc and to some sort of backup and restore. I only have laptops, so I don't know how to attach a tivo drive(s), and I am assuming my old A drive wouldn't be usable anyway. What should I do?

That's right - you need both drives in a PC to make this work. D-I-Y info is here:

or you can send them to us and have us do it:
