I am trying to simply bless a new hard drive to a current one. The system is seeing the 750 GB drive I am adding as well as the current TiVo master unit. Both are being reported correctly.
When I do the instruction:
mfsadd -r 4 -x /dev/hda /dev/hdb
I get the message:
hdb: drive not ready for command
hdb: status error: status=0x00 {}
hdb: drive not ready for command
ide0: reset: success
Eventually, I get these messages:
/dev/hdb: Input/output error
/dev/hdb3: Illegal seek
mfs_load_volume_header: Total sectors (1463793664) mismatch with volume header (-13660497920)
mfs_load_volume_header: Loading anyway.
mfs_load_zone_map: Primary zone map corrupt, loading backup.
mfs_load_zone_map: Secondary zone map corrupt, giving up.
mfs_load_zone_map: Zone map checksum error!
Unable to open MFS drives.
I have checked and re-checked and I am certain I have the master and slave identified correctly. The new hard drive came straight out of the box. So, I can't imagine it's dead on arrival.
Any ideas about how to fix this?
