Hey guys,
I'm by no means a noob when it comes to getting my hands dirty with PC hardware, but when in doubt; always ask first.
My DirectTivo Series 2 RCA DVR40 hard drive just crashed (what a champ!), and I called DirectTV and decided to upgrade to their HD DVR at a discount.
Anyways, I have this DirectTivo just sitting here and I know all I need to do is replace the drive, and maybe give it to a friend.
What are my best options? Put in an approved 40GB drive, and download the DirectTivo image from this site onto the drive? I know the old hard drive is smoked, so getting reliable data off it isn't an option.
Thanks in advance.
