After years of perfect operation, my (upgraded to 2 x 250) Tivo is showing the GSOD, rebooting, then GSOD, ...
From what I've read, this may be any number of things, including one or both hard drives, or the OS image.
1. How can I tell if one of the hard drives is bad?
2. Is it be likely that I will be able to recover my recordings?
3. Is it possible to do a backup of the recordings, restore the OS from my original Tivo drive, and then put the recordings back on the same drives?
I've looked at the upgrade instructions avialable, but the all assume that you are moving your Tivo OS and recordings to new drives, not back to the same drives.
Any other advice would be appreciated. I'm also considering buying two new 250s or one new 500...
