I am trying to upgrade a Series 1 Philips TIVO with two 30 GB Maxtor drives to use two 160 GB Maxtor drives. I dont mind if it only uses 137 GB of each drive if it will simplify the installation.
I am using UPGRADE CONFIGURATION #5 of the instructions at:
http://www.newreleasesvideo.com/hins...to/index9.html
I connect all four drives and boot from the latest boot floppy. All drives are detected properly by the BIOS.
When I enter the command: "mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hda /dev/hdb | mfsrestore -r 4 -s 127 -xzpi - /dev/hdc /dev/hdd" it fails and gives me the usage for mfsrestore which indicates improper usage. Since the usage looks OK for the mfsbackup command I suspected something was wrong with the mfsrestore command.
I entered mfsrestore ? to check the proper usage and it does not show a -r option.
Could I have a bad version of Mfstools2floppy?
Any suggestions?
