I have a series 1 philips dvr 312 that has previously been factory upgraded to two 30G drives. I am now trying to replace two drives with one 160G WD av drive.
In a nutshell, I followed the hinsdale instruction and ended up with a non bootable drive. I have repeated the instructinos many times, and tried different variations.
There are at least 2 version of mfstools. Some instructions says to use an older version for series one. Does it really matter?
Also, the parameters of the mfsbackup seems to differ slightly on different web site. The mfsrestore parameters also differ on different set of instructions. How can I tell which one is the correct one to use?
Is there a way to examine the content of the resulting drive to verify it has the correct files and folders on it? The tivo software is version 3. something. The backup/restore copied about 800 MB of stuff.
