Hello,
I have an interesting problem, and so far I was unable to locate any other topic about similar issue. The bottom line is that I upgraded my Tivo series 2 from 80 Gb to 500 Gb, but the space available is reported only for 140 hrs.
I have model TiVo 80hr TCD649080. I have followed the steps in 'hinsdale-how-to' upgrade - I decided to go with slow copy to preserve the current content. I burnt the boot CD from step 4 (http://www.newreleasesvideo.com/hins...o/MFSLBA48.zip ), but when I tried to run it, I realized that most probably this was not the software that the text was referring to, as one of the prompts communicated that this was a kernel copy software and by that time I should already have a new disk prepared with MFS Tools. I searched for latest version, and found version 2 here (http://mfstools.sourceforge.net/ ), burnt it, and used for the transfer.
In step 10 I used configuration #3 (single drive Tivo to new single larger A drive) and used the following command to copy drive:
mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hdc | mfsrestore -r 4 -s 127 -xzpi - /dev/hda
It took indeed very long time, and when finished, the message said that the capacity was increased by 60 Gb (thus together 140 Gb). When I put the disk into Tivo and checked the setup, it also said that recording capacity was now 140 hrs. Any idea what did I wrong?
Thanks,
Andre
