Moving recordings and settings - old Tivo to new

I have a Hughes DirectTivo - it's dying. I am either going to buy a new series 2 or an HD.

Is there a way to get all my settings and recordings copied somehow to the new Tivo?

Ok, forgetting the new Tivo, is there any way to get the recordings off at all, PC or Mac?

You can buy a standalone DVD recorder and save to DVD as you would a VCR.
