Please tell me there's hope for me? I booted up my PC into Windows XP with the original TiVo drive connected to the system, BEFORE reading the warning at the bottom of the how-to instructions, and now, mfstool isn't able to read the TiVo drive. I'm assuming this 'signature' from Windows XP you speak of got written to the drive. is there anything i can do? or am i screwed now? all i wanted to do was transfer my TiVo stuff to a new larger drive, because my TiVo stopped booting one day, sounding like the HD was crashed, but prior to booting into Windows XP with the drive connected, i WAS able to see _something_ in mfstool when i had ONLY the TiVo drive attached. now, after ill-advisedly booting into Windows, i now have the FAT32 drive attached, the TiVo drive attached AND the new larger drive attached, in preparation for the backup/restore. but when i tried to issue the mfsbackup command, it errored out, so i tried the 'mfstool info /dev/hdc' command, and i get '/dev/hdc10: Illegal seek' which i didn't get before. Help?!?!?
