Bless/format my own add-on drive?

Is there some way to bless my own Seagate 320GB drive to prep it for install with a WeaKnees upgrade bracket kit? It seems like mailing a fragile drive for formating by someone else should be avoided if possible...and such a thing should be easy with the right program to "bless" an add-on.

Am I missing something?

We don't really have the information around to do this, and we use newer tools to get these drives formatted, but you can dig around for help with BlessTiVo and that should lead you to the right place.
