  • DirecTV HR10-250 upgrade to ??

I bought a first generation TiVo DirecTV HR10-250. Is there a way to tell from the outside or menu what it has inside, and how large can they be made today with upgrades?

You system information screen should tell you what the recording capacity of that particular unit is; a function of the drive size installed within.

As for how large you can go, about 200 HD/1300 SD is currently the max. Some drive options weaKnees offers are here:

Thats fine if you want a larger hard drive, but what about

all those other connection "reserved" for future, etc...
Can anything be done with them?

Meaning the USB ports? Essentially inactive without some pretty unstable hacks - not worth it.
        Been here a long time . . .

Thought there ware more and might be some functionality potential there.

So with this model, which has a large HDrive for HiDef recording, works with the RCA DRC8060N DVD RECORDER?
How do I hook it up to my vintage Samsung SP-P4251 ?

Yes, you can send analog signal to your dvd recorder in order to burn contents to disc.

A for connecting your Samsung SP-P4251 (is that a TV?), you might need to use either a component cable or an HDMI-DVI cable. Not sure if that model TV has HDMI input.

TiVo DirecTV HR10-250 records an analog signal to the DVD recorder?

Samsung SP-P4251 is same era HD Plasma.
              Yes they both have HDMI-DVI.

Okay, so you can use an HDMI-DVI cable available here:
