Hi, I am thinking of getting a new tivo HD and had a few questions if I may?
I have about a few series 2 boxes and the older 160 gig series 2 in the living room. I figure on getting a series 3 with HD for the living room but after reading a few of the forums to "upgrade" my or a new tivo I am not sure I can do it.
One forum says I need software to copy the old drive to put it on the new bigger drive. And that I need to attach my new HD to my pc to copy it... but I do not think I have a second hd slot to temp add it to my PC to write to. But I do have a USB HD enclosure kit I can put it in to write to. Will that work at all?
Also I do have H D Direct tv in the living room and mostly the tivo series 2 records fine on it. Most channels say H D when recorded but the only shows I have any trouble with is the sunday night shows on FOX such as Family guy and American dad. The screen will pixulate at the bottom and stick for a second on the recordings. Im just trying to figure out if an H D tivo is worth it if thats my only HD trouble.
