2TB External Drive: FAST or JBOD?

Reading the installation manual for the new 2TB external drive for the TiVo Premiere talks about switching between FAST and SAFE settings. The only problem is, the drive itself is set to JBOD!

I'm not touching a thing, because JBOD is probably correct, but why confuse matters by referring to the FAST mode?

The printed instruction sheet was made and designed long before the TiVo Premiere was in existence. We set the drive properly, and JBOD is correct in a 4TB premiere (2TB inside; 2TB outside).

BTW, FAST is used when 2 drives are in the external. SAFE is used for backup. JBOD is used for a single-drive in a dual-drive external case, which is what we are using now for TiVo Premiere externals.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply! I was seriously debating whether FAST or even SPAN/BIG were a better option, not realizing it's just one big 2TB drive. Thanks again!
