Hi,

I bought the series 3 external esata upgrade and my series 3 does not recognize it. I followed these instructions. Is there something additional that I am not doing?

1. Unplug Tivo
2. Plug the power into external drive
3. Plug the esata between tivo and drive
4. Turn on external drive (blue and red lights start flashing, can I turn those off?)
5. Replug in Tivo and wait for it to boot
6. Go to Messages & Settings -> Settings -> Remote, CableCARD, & Devices -> External Storage
7. Tivo says it does not detect an external storage.

This is an original, unmodified Tivo Series 3.

I tried fiddling with the cables, rebooting the tivo several times, with no luck.
