Largest drive capacity for DirectTivo?

I have a DirectTivo Philips DSR7000 appears to have a disk drive failure.

I'm considering replacing the two internal drives with a pair of SATA 500 GB drives in an external case. Is there any problem with this amount of disk space on this unit?

I don't know how you'd connect an external case to a DSR7000, but we sell a dual-750gb kit for your unit:
