I am considering buying an HR44. The present setup is standard Directv DVR, Dish with 3 LNB's with two wires. I have no plans for getting more receivers, Cash is tight, and I don't want to spend a lot on a SWM8 if I don't need it. Can you please advise me? Thanks

You definitely need some SWM system for an HR44. It can't read the older signal.
But if you have a 3LNB with two wires, that might be the much older oval 3LNB and not the Slimline dish, which see three different satellites. Do you know which it is? Do you currently get HBO in HD?Been here a long time . . . -
It is an oval dish (and quite old) From the forums I've read, it sounds like SWM3 will work since I have no plans for more receivers or other language channels. Thanks.Comment
