I have a HR21, SWM3 (single wire w/PI-21).
Line from dish to PI-21, and then to the HR21.
It worked for months set up like that.
Then the dreaded code 771 & "SWM registration error" came up on the screen.
The cure was to install a splitter between the PI-21 and the SWM, and then connect a line from the splitter to the HR21.
I'm told that this is happens now and then. No one seems to know why though.
