  • Help with a Slimline 5lnb setup

I need to give you the background first. Directv came to my parents house and set up a Whole Home DVR with with 2 additional regular HD receivers and 1 SD receiver. They set up on a slimeline 5lnb dish, it has 4 outputs on the lnb. I want to take the DVR if possible or at least one of the regular HD receivers to my house and set it up. I have already purchased a slimeline dish identical to theirs. When I simply set the dish and hook up the receiver I am not able to get any signal no matter hwo much i attempt. Please advise me. I know they have some type of SWM device behind one of the tv's, is this the only thing I am missing? I basically need a step by step instructions from the dish to the receiver so I can eliminate what part of this puzzle I am missing. Thank you in advance for your help.

You should really get DIRECTV to come out to your house and aim your dish.
    Been here a long time . . .

That being said, Can you answer my question as to from the dish to the receiver what needs to be in place? Or can the line go straight from the dish to the receiver like the old days? I assume not with the SWM switches and what not.

        hey ifyalky

It sounds like you need a B-band converter. You can get one or change your LNB to a SWIM LNB one wire. If these do not help you need to get your Sat spotted.
