SWM stopped working

I stopped receiving signal from the dish with Direct TV and they seemed to think it's the SWM after unplugging it for 30 secs. They won't have a tech here for four days. Shouldn't I pick up the signal if I take out the SWM and plug the cable directly to wall outlet without the SWM? The system has worked perfectly for two years till yesterday. Any suggestions that i may try while I wait four days with no TV?

If you have a SWM8, then you can try to bypass it, but you'd have to be sure that your receiver is set up for a non-SWM setup AND you'd need a b-band converter to get HD without SWM.
