  • SLiMLINE QUESTION

I have a slimline dish currently that provides the signal to my HD-DVR (hr23-700) and a SD box. I picked up another HDTV so I would like to ditch the SD box and get another HD-DVR. Doing this I would like them to be "Whole Home" capable as well. However the way it is currently ran I am not sure how go about doing this. Currently it is ran like this; from the slimline dish there are 3 wire coming off, 2 go to the HD-DVR and 1 goes to the SD box, no splitters/switch anywhere.

If I want Whole Home I know I will need a PI-21 or PI-29, a splitter/switch and another HD-DVR or HD box. My problem/question is why are there 3 wires coming off the slimline dish? There is only the small lnb on it so I am assuming it is the swm 3? I thought those only had or needed 1 wire coming from the dish so I am not sure how to make this system work with 3 wires coming off dish when I was expecting only 1. What do I need to make this slimline dish SWM capable for whole home?

    Thanks in advance

You have to run 4 lines from your dish into a SWM8, see:

    www.swm8.com

(You'll have to run that 4 line or you can locate the swm8 near the dish.)
