    Hi

    I currently have one HR24-D500

I am buying another one. Therefore, I will have two of them in separate rooms in the house.

I am trying to avoid running more cable in the house then I have.

    Can I ?

Run the four cables from the dish to the SWM8

From that go to splitter and run ONE line to each receiver AND still use the record function on each DVR.

I am trying to avoid running two lines from the SWM8/splitter to the new receiver and still have ability to record on that new receiver. This is since I already have one cable running where I need it to run. I want to avoid running another.

Yes - you can do exactly that. You can split a SWM cable pretty much anywhere and continue one leg on to another DVR.

      Thanks for amazing fast response

      Next couple questions

1.other than buying the devices and following your diagrams what does it take to go from non SWM environment to a SWM environment ? Do I need to get DTV involved or can I do it myself ?

      2. If I have the ability to run 2 receivers off of SWM and I have a third receiver that I can wire directly to the dish (room is right next to dish on roof) will the third work OR will the system want to look for that third receiver coming directly off of the SWM ? Meaning all future receivers I add need to run through the SWM ?

1 - You can do it yourself. They don't need to change any configurations or add anything to your account.

2 - Yes. Everything needs to come off the SWM, and not between it and the dish.
