Using PI-21 with SWM8...Searched

    Using PI-21 with SWM8...Searched

    Hi guys,

    I've searched and read up on this but I couldn't find a direct answer.

    Switch: SWS8WB-WNC
    Dish: SLM3 SWM
    LNB: SWM 3LNB, Single
    PI-21 Inserter

    I know the voltage is low for the SWM8 but I'm only powering one HD (non-DVR) receiver. So the voltage from the PI-21 should be fine right?

    it doesnt look like you have a swm 8 ... you have a swm lnb & a 8 way switch ... or splitter... you have the right power supply inserter....

    it does not matter how many recvrs you have .... the power is to make the lnb work ....

        Oh yeah, The SWM8 is the huge switch with legacy outputs. Sorry

        I bought these and wanted to make sure, no problems yet, hopefully.

          Just an FYI, technically, a PI-21 isn't really strong enough for a SWM8 in many circumstances. It'll work with short runs, but a SWM8 really needs a PI-29.

            Right, Can you use a PI-29 with any LNB switch combination? Or is it only necessary with the SWM8?

              PI29 can be used with a SWM8 or a SWM-LNB.

                Wow, I just came to the realization that I don't even need a splitter. I have only one receiver. I can go straight to the Inserter. Thanks for your help guys!
