Why not locate each receiver at each TV around the house using SWM? Then you don't need to change the wiring probably (technically, you should use RG6).

How would you even feed HD video over coax?
    Been here a long time . . .

actually ... there is a system called a floodgate ...the floodgate sends a pro:idiom signal over coax that is received by a special recvr or tv which decodes it into an hd picture...

        DVR set for single tuner

I have 4 HD DVR's on a swm8 tap, if I manually set them to single tuner can I put additional units on the tap?

Also does a swm splitter have to equal the number of tuners or greater, example: can I put 2 dvr's using 2 tuners on a swm2?

look at it like this ... the wire from the swm has 8 channels on it ...

each tuner is assigned a channel ... all outputs on the splitter have these channels on it ... so each wire from the splitter have the same channels on it ...lets say tuner 1 uses channel 1 & 2 ,2 & 3,3 & so on till 8 are used , that is the limit .. if you use a 8 way splitter & use all channels on 4 outputs as in 4 dvr's ... then the other 4 outputs are useless... cause all the channels are used up ...if you only set the dvr for one tuner each ,then you still have 4 more channels...

and yes ... a two way will do 2 dvr's with 4 tuners
