You can just force an update - just reboot, and press 0 2 4 6 8 at the first gray screen.

Realistically, any unit that's been in service recently is up to date for SWM compatibility.

Been here a long time . . .

If the #1 input of your DVR says FTM or SWM, then it's compatible

If you go to your satellite strength readings and scroll through the different satellite strengths, you will come to a SWM reading of 9 lines if yours is running SWM.

Also, there will be a power supply somewhere (most likely behind a TV) that feeds the SWM LNB if you have one
