SWM Power Inserters

Why does the PI28 or PI29 have to be 15 feet from the SWM when inserted into the SWM1 port? If the PI is inserted into the Legacy3 port, does this 15 foot "rule" still apply, or can the PI be closer to the SWM? Reason for the question is that we are trying to house everything in a single large panel.

I'm not sure about the "why" of it, but I do know that plenty of customers are using it much closer to the SWM with no problems. It may be that it decreases the overall length possible, or the signal strength.
