Hi all,
I'm puzzled by some results I'm seeing as I install my 5-LNB SWM dish and H-21 receiver. I have the dish firmly mounted near ground level to a large half-round post, braced, and the bubble level centered. All cable is new RG-6 quad-shield, new compression connectors. The power injector is plugged in, wired correctly. Great view of the southern sky, up-down and left-right at least 20 degrees from center.
I'm in the Washington DC market, attempting to peak the dish using an Acutrac III meter. The meter shows mid-sixties in the Ku-band for the 101 satellite, with an odd transponder selected. Ka-band signal shows in the eighties.
The H-21 receiver shows signals in the mid-90s on the DirecTV 101 sat (except for xponders 4, 13, 21 which are 0 and xponder 29 at 40) and the 110 sat (just three xponders in use here). I get mid-70s to low-80s from the 103(b) sat, while the 103(a) shows nothing but na.
What puzzles me is that I get nothing but zeros from the 119 bird. A look at the Lyngsat site shows no signals for the DC market from that spot-beam satellite, so I guess I shouldn't expect to see anything from it anyway, but when I go past the receiver's signal strength screen to the "confirming dish setup" screen I get a fail on both the 119 and 103(a) satellites. As mentioned, the 103(a) shows all na on the previous screen and the 119 shows all zeros, but my market isn't served by it.
There doesn't seem to be any way of getting past this screen, should I just call DirecTV and have them add the receiver to my account and call it done or do I have a problem?
Tx,
Andrew
edit: just found that I can move past the "confirming" page. Still bugged by the two fails and I'd welcome opinions.
