Splitter ports need termination?

Hi all,

I'm planning on installing a SWM system and connecting a 4 way splitter to one of the SWM ports which will feed 3 HD DVR's (one port unused) and connecting a 2 way splitter to the other SWM port to feed another 2 (non-DVR) receivers. The question is, does the 4th (unused) port on the 4 way splitter need to be terminated or can it happily just sit unconnected, unused and unterminated?

If it's not in a place where it might get wet (i.e. outside) then it shouldn't need a terminator cap.
