SWM signal strength

What is the meaning of the 9 transponders listed in the signal strength section when SWM is selected. I have seen them all hot 90-100 and sometimes with several at 0. Is it related to channels in use somehow? 8 would make sense but more recently I am seeing 9 with signal strength

The 9th is the communication channel among all connected receivers.
