  • Help Can Not Receive Signal!!

I moved from a single dwelling unit on slimline 5 dish do a multi dwelling unit with a SWM-8/slimline 5 configuration. The current scheme is Dish on roof, amplifier (somewhere unknown to me) and ALL in the closet down the hall is a SWM-8 (using port SWM1/PWR) going to a Power Inserter then to a 1x4 splitter, and then my apartment (estimated just at or over 100ft of cable from closet to my receiver) and eventually connected to PORT 1 (SWM) on the receiver. The receiver is a HR-21 (of which worked fine connected directly to a dish in previous install). After resetting the receiver it fails to find a signal after that fails I go to the dish setup screen and select SLIMLINE5 / SWM / DUAL and that fails to verify device. In the signal meter I get all ZERO's, although I have gotten some of the satellites on 101 to show a signal at one point in changing things up. Even though some showed to have a signal most were still at ZERO. Any suggestions?

Did you remove the B-Band converter from the back of the unit?

Have you communicated with the managers of the building to be sure it's a standard SWM setup, and that there are SWM channels available on your line?

My HR21 just can not get a complete signal from SWM

Well the signal works PERFECT with another receiver using SWM. It's just my HR21 can not get a signal using SWM. I did a complete RESET TO DEFAULT SETTINGS by pressing a code at the start-up of the receiver of which reloaded firmware 0312. Still though I can not see a signal with SWM. Although if I switch it to mulitswitch it will get every other one on the transponders on 101 only. I would like to keep my receiver, but is there anything I could do to fix this problem? Thanks again for your input

Might be a defective signal destacker inside the HR21 if you have a different, identical unit that works with the SWM setup.
