  • Swm-8 Ota

Dose anyone know how the OTA signal is handled inside the SWM8?

Is it just split and diplexed into the 2 SWM output ports without any amplification?

I assume it is not connected to the legacy ports right?

Are there upper limits to the input signal strength?

Is there any DC or anything running down stream from the SWM-8 that can damage regular NTSC or ATSC tuners?
Example: The raw SWM+OTA signal is hooked up to an ATSC or NTSC tuner without a diplexer

    General splitting question

Are the signal strengths decreased 3db+ per port of a splitter regardless of whether or not it has a terminator on the line?

    Thanks

Right - it's not on the legacy ports, and it's not amplified on the SWM ports.

As long as you have the units after the power inserter, there isn't any DC coming down the line to damage the tuners.
    Been here a long time . . .
