  • Using a DIRECTV SWM5 Ka/Ku Five LNB with a .74 meter dish

    Hi,
I have a MotoSAT DataStorm F-1 is a 0.74 meter "self-pointing" dish on my RV. It is not be used as a Sat. transceiver. It already has one LNB installed but needs to be upgraded to HD. MotoSat has abandon any upgrades for this model. Since I don't know what service market I will be in, I feel I need SWM5. Have a single RG6 run from dish into RV. Installing multiple RG6 cables not practical. SWM seems a good fit. However it seems that the SWM5 Ka/Ku Five LNB is the only way to get all the LNBs needed for all 5 birds. I was thinking of dismantling the SWM5 Ka/Ku Five LNB into it component LNB so they can be mounted as need, since the dish does not have a "tilt" adjustment, just Azimuth and Elevation.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Thanks
