  • SWM8 Legacy Port Problem

I am using all 8 feeds from the multi-switch (all are HD DVR's). Now I want to connect an R22 (SD DVR) to two of the legacy ports. I can get it to work, but I don't get all channels in my package (missing MLB Extra Innings), and in the test screen it fails both data feed and guide feed. I think it is a problem with the satellite configuration. I am using Slimline5 dish.

What should I put in for satellite set up?
    I have tried 04:Slimline-5, 02:Multiswitch with B-band converters.
    I have tried 04:Slimline-5, 02:Multiswitch with no B-band converters.
I have tried 02:3-LNB, 01: SWM with no B-band converters.
I have tried a bunch of additional configurations but nothing works right.

Does anyone know what the configuration should be?

The problem is that the missing channels are on the SATs not carried on the legacy ports.

The legacy ports only get the same SAT access that an older 3LNB dish would get.
    Been here a long time . . .

Hi, I and a DTV dealer, though not very active.
Today was upgrading a customer and used SWM for the first time: instead of direct connection of his two receivers to Slim3 (legacy LNB) installed SWM8 and added three more receivers.
All new receivers (H22, HR23 and D12) on the SWN side work fine.

I connected the older receivers to the Legacy ports: D11 works fine, but HR22 does not see sats 99 and 103. 101 is perfect with signal on both tuners=95. I tried to reset HR22 many times, tried to remove B-band converters to no avail.

What did I do wrong and is SWM8 supposed to work with Slim3/Slim5 and HD receivers on the legacy side?

As you'll see from the previous posts, the legacy ports do not pass 99, 103. They only send what the old 3LNB sees--101, 110, 119.

Thank you for your prompt comment.

I could infer from the previous posts that legacy does not pass some 2 sats.
In order to return the switch to the warehouse I need some 'official' specs that reads that 99 and 103 are not transferred. Is there any doc I could refer to?

          Thanks a lot.
