  • Do I need to protect the SWM8 from weather?

I live in St. Louis and will likely install a SW8 on a flat roof. My question is whether I need I to somehow protect the SW8 (not the power input just the SW8) from the weather. It rains a LOT here, snows some and can get pretty cold in the winter. However my biggest concern is heat. The summers here can be brutal at time. The air temp in be in in the high 90's and my concern is that on the roof that temperature will get even higher.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Rich

The SWM is weather-proof, but it will not hurt to enclose it in a metal box.

Any suggestions on where to get a metal box that fits the SWM8 and has the proper holes for the cable?
