  • SWM ?? Newbie

I have read alot of posts but I still don't understand too much on how they work or on which receivers they work on.

This is my current setup I have a
Slimline 5 LNB Dish (don't know if its SWM)
    DirectTV + HD-DVR H21 (2 cables connected)
DirecTV DVR SD-DVR40 - Hughes (1 cable connected)
DirecTV DVR SD-DVR120 - Hughes (1 cable connected)

    (1) I would like to connect another cable to the DVR SD-DVRXXX units without having to run anymore wires. What do i need? Will a SWM switch work on the older units?

    (2) If I do have to run two more wires which multiswitch would be best.

    (3) Also wich would be less expensive.

You don't have a SWM dish and you can't use the SWM technology with your SD-DVRs. They are not compatible. Sorry--the only option with those units is to run two wires to get two tuners.

      THANKS! for the quick reply.
Guess I will be going with a 6x8 multiswitch.
