5 LNB Ka/Ku Dishes Obsolete?

I heard from a DirecTV installer that the Ka/Ku dishes were becoming obsolete this year or next as the satellites are are changing (or something to that effect). Has anyone else heard anything similar or to support such a statement?

Haven't heard that. There are certainly SWM dishes which use different LNBs, but they use the same dish.

Been here a long time . . .

Does DirecTV have a dish that is able to do more than 8 tuners without the aid of a multiswitch?

Nope. You need a multiswitch.
