SWM-8 split twice 1x2 then 1x4?

I know you can split one RG6 wire twice but I want to run one wire into my basement (after coming off the SWM-8) where I'll have the power inserter and a 1x2 splitter with one DVR.

Then the other wire off the splitter would continue on to my living room where it would go to 3 DVRs coming off a 1x4 splitter.

I have 4 DVRs (8 tuners) which should be allowed but can I use the 1x4 if I don't use the last connection? Thanks.

Yes, you can do that. You will want to terminate the usused ports on the 1x4. If you get the 1x4 from us, it will generally come with terminators. Just specify in the customer notes field that you need a 1x4 with terminators.
