  • New HD Installation with SWM

I'm a current DirectTV customer. Will be converting over 2 existing older receivers to 3 new HD HR22 receivers. DirectTV will supply new dish and installation for free. However, they cannot tell me if the installation will include SWM. SkyLink will be doing the installation and apparently the equipment is sent to them from DirectTV. Any thoughts on how I can make sure to get a SWM multi-switch in my new installation?

Not really...this is really up to DIRECTV. If you get a standard 5LNB dish, you'll have to purchase the SWM.

DirectTV was not able to provide me with a SWM switch. Apparently (at this time) they are not providing SWM for existing customers. New customers might be treated differently but I am only guessing.

The installers finally showed up yesterday. I asked them about SWM. They said they are not supposed to mention SWM but if the customer asks then they can maybe do something. Anyway, they set me up with a SWM 5LNB dish. Ran a single line into the house where they installed a SWS-8 splitter.
