I had a technician tell me he had learned to wire up the SWM-8 by sending power through the Legacy 3 port. Are there alternate ways to wire the unit?

You can do that, but you need a different power supply. It's possible that the regular power supply works that way also, but we haven't tried it, and so we can't recommend it.Been here a long time . . . -
how does that work w/ out back-feeding power through the system? & which power supply would be used?Comment

You DO backfeed through the system. It's a different frequency, and it works perfectly. You must use SWM 1 for this.
The PI-21 or PI-28 are the right ones for this.Been here a long time . . .Comment
