I have a new SWM-8 installation, and am having problems with the OTA signal. I have an OTA antenna connected to the SWM, and then from the SWM things go as follows:
SWM-1 -> 30' of coax -> diplexer -> HR20 (one side to the SWM Satellite port, the other to the OTA antenna port - each about 2' of coax)
SWM-2 -> 60' of coax -> SWM Splitter
SWM Splitter Port 1 -> 10' of coax ->Toshiba HDTV (just using the OTA signal until I can scrape up the cash for another IRD or DVR)
SWM Splitter Port 2 -> 30' of coax -> diplexer
diplexer port 1 -> Samsung HDTV (OTA only)
diplexer port 2 -> HR21 SWM port (there is no OTA port on an HR21)
If I terminate diplexer port 1 in a 50Ohm resistor, everything works great (except no OTA on the Samsung, of course). If I connect that second cable to the Samsung, the HR21 'locks up' (video freeze, or white screen on a power cycle).
The HR20 works fine.
Over on the DirecTV forum, they're now saying "this won't work"
Anyone here have any thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
Clay Jackson
