HR10-250 usb port

Hi All,

First time post; recording dvd's - direct input, network, ??????

I've had the Huges 10-250 unit for about a year & like it alot. I would like to record to a dvd unit. How many different ways are there to do that & what's the best? Can the usb port on the back be used for anything? Also, I've tried to update the Direct TV programming to the 7.?? but it never happens. Is that the software needed to network? I know there's a lot of options but I'm not clear what that unit will do.....

The newest software version for that unit is 6.3D.

There are hacks to enable the networking on that unit, but they seem to cause lots of other problems. If you want a solid unit that just works, we really don't recommend trying those hacks.

record to dvd is easy, just setup like you would to a vcr, but the resolution on the hr10-250 must be set to 480p otherwise you'll get sound with no picture, works great, I record off my hr10-250 all the time
