HR20/100, What do I need to know to upgrade

HR20/100, What do I need to know to upgrade to a more modern HD DVR? I only have 1 TV so I don't need a Genie.
Do I just swap the new one for the old and call Directv or can I activate it when it starts up? Do I need to return the old one to Directv?
Are the refurbished HR24 units from Weaknees the same or as good as new ones?
This is my 1st time on this forum so forgive me if this has been asked before.

If you call DIRECTV, they'll swap you with any HR2X - could even be the same model.

The only way to get an HR24 for sure is to get it from us.

Our refurbs seem to be as good as the new units we had previously. Unfortunately, we don't see any new HR24s on the horizon, so this is as good as it'll get.
