If you have several HR 24's networked together how is the data stored? Is it duplicated on each HD or does it reside on the machine where the recording originated? I am thinking about this is regards to HD capacity and if having several 500gb units in any ways expands your overall recording capacity .

The data always resides on the original unit where it was recorded.
When viewed on other units (DVRs or receivers) the data is only streamed, not stored.Been here a long time . . .Comment
