  • Replacement HR20 won't recognize ext. drive data

I had to replace an HR20 that quit working. I have an external 1TB drive (purchased from WeaKnees) which is working fine. When I set up the replacement HR20 initially I did not plug the external drive into the unit. I then reset the receiver and it recognizes the external drive; however, when I try to watch a previously recorded program I get an error message that the access card has expired (763). It appears that the hardware is looking for the previous access card. Anyone know a work around for this problem? DirecTV could not help.
    Thanks in advance!

Right - you can't move an external from one unit to another without losing the data. It's all locked to the original receiver by DirecTV. So you'll have to just delete those items. Sorry.
    Been here a long time . . .

Thanks for the confirmation. I'll delete the data and start over.
