So I have 2 S2 TiVos connected to 2 fairly old school, standard def DirecTV receivers in 2 different rooms. The two DirecTV receivers are "after market" receivers that I bought because the free receivers required infrared to allow the TiVo remote to change the DirecTV channel and the delay was completely unacceptable to me.
The receivers I bought have low speed data inputs that reduce the delay significantly. I'm considering an upgrade to newer, HD receivers in anticipation of an upgrade to newer, HD TVs, but I really want to maintain a speedy response to remote actions.
Do the new DirecTV receivers offer any better solution for synchronizing remote events? Or at least the something other than the infrared thing?
Thanks.
