  • Networkin my two HR-22's

I have a HR-22 in my living room and also one in my bedroom. My question is if I network them through my wireless internet system can I watch programs on one that was recorded on the other?

ie: can I watch a program on my livingroom dvr that I recorded on my bedroom dvr? If not what other reason would there be to network my dvrs?

That's a feature in beta software right now, but we do expect it to come to all DirecTV HD DVRs within a few months.
    Been here a long time . . .

OK but is there any other reason to network besides on demand, and is on demand a free thing or like pay per view?

Some on demand is free, some costs money.

You can also do online scheduling and pay per view over the network, and some media sharing services like music and photos do work over the network.

No, I don't believe you can currently do it like that.

The beta is out now, and you can watch in different rooms now. force a download, and make sure the top network jack on your DVR is connected to your router, and the bottom jack connects to the top jack of your OTHER receiver.... then go to setup and look for 'multi room' option and follow the instructions.

DirecTV is not providing support for this yet, and for now it's free - but nothing lasts forever right?

Not sure what a "wireless networking antenna" is - can you post a part name or a link?

Im sorry I see now that the wireless wifi antennas are for the Tivo. I was assuming that they were for DirecTV also. I guess hard wire eithernet is the only choice. Better than nothing.

There are wireless bridges that can work for DirecTV, and DirecTV is coming out with a DECA adapter that will use the coax in your house to bring internet to your DirecTV DVR if you have a SWM system.
